About Velotric
Velotric launched in 2021, founded by Adam Zhang, a co-founder of the shared-mobility company Lime. The pitch was an e-bike that looked good, rode comfortably, and did not cut corners on safety. Velotric sells direct to consumers, skipping the dealer markup.
Velotric built its reputation on certification and comfort. Every model carries UL 2849 certification for the complete e-bike, not just the battery, and the bikes lean toward upright, approachable geometry rather than aggressive performance positioning. The Discover commuter line and the Nomad fat-tire line became the brand’s volume sellers within two years of launch.
Velotric’s lineup now spans commuter, lightweight, fat-tire, folding, cargo, and cruiser e-bikes. The Discover bikes cover daily commuting, the T1 keeps weight low for urban riding, the Nomad handles loose terrain, and the Go and Packer carry loads. Most models run hub motors in Class 2 or Class 3 configurations, with the Discover M stepping up to a 500W mid-drive.
Most popular Velotric models
Velotric’s core is the commuter. The Discover 1 Plus is the accessible daily bike, the Discover 2 is the mainstream commuter, and the Discover M steps up to a 500W VeloCore mid-drive motor. The T1 and T1 ST Plus are the lightweight urban e-bikes for riders who want less weight and a cleaner look, and the Breeze 1 is the laid-back cruiser.
Beyond the city, the Summit 1 is the hybrid built for light off-road riding, the Nomad 1 Plus and full-suspension Nomad 2X run 4-inch fat tires for sand and snow, and the Fold 1 folds down for storage and transit. The Go 1 and Packer 1 are the utility and longtail cargo bikes, rated to carry kids and groceries. A loaded Packer 1 carries a replacement value and a load of gear that a homeowner’s policy rarely covers in full, which is where stand-alone cargo bike insurance fills the gap.
