About Fuji
Fuji traces its founding to 1899 in Japan, where Okazaki Kyujiro launched the company that became Nichibei Fuji Cycle Company in 1900. The brand spent the early 20th century building and importing bicycles between Japan and the US, and reorganized as Fuji America in 1971 to expand US distribution. After the parent company filed for bankruptcy in 1998, Philadelphia-based Advanced Sports International acquired Fuji America and the global brand rights, and Fuji has operated from Philadelphia as a US bike brand ever since.
Fuji has a long racing heritage. Chief engineer Dr. Shoichiro Sugihara designed the Japanese national team bicycles at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics and again at Mexico City in 1968 and Munich in 1972. The brand’s road and time-trial frames raced at the WorldTour level for decades, and Fuji frames carried riders to multiple Grand Tour stage wins.
The current US lineup is broad and value-oriented. It spans the Kasane road carbon flagship, the Jari and Jari Carbon gravel platform, the Auric and Blackhill EVO mountain bikes, the Traverse and Captiva entry hardtails, the Absolute fitness hybrid, and the Boulevard EVO comfort e-bike, plus the E-Nevada hardtail e-mountain bike. Distribution runs through traditional independent bike dealers across the country.
Most popular Fuji models
Fuji’s lineup covers road, gravel, mountain, hybrid, and electric in a single coherent catalog priced below most of its peers at the same component spec. The Kasane is the road carbon flagship, the Jari Carbon is the gravel platform offered in both the 1.3 build and the 1.1 top trim, and the Auric and Blackhill EVO carry the mountain side.
The mountain range runs from the entry-tier Traverse and Captiva hardtails through the Auric 27.5 all-mountain to the full-suspension Blackhill EVO 27.5+ on the e-MTB side, with the E-Nevada hardtail covering the entry electric trail tier. The Absolute fitness hybrid and Boulevard EVO comfort e-bike round out the urban and commuter half of the catalog. For Fuji’s gravel platform in particular, which carries the kind of replacement value a homeowner’s policy will likely cap below, stand-alone gravel bike insurance from Velosurance covers theft, crash, and transit damage that a property policy will not.

Fuji’s road carbon flagship. Disc-brake aero geometry, integrated cockpit, and an electronic-shifting build at the top of Fuji’s on-road range.

The mid-tier Jari Carbon gravel bike. Carbon frame and fork with clearance for wide gravel tires and a mechanical or 1x drivetrain on a value-tier component spec.

The flagship Jari Carbon. Same carbon platform as the 1.3 with a higher-spec drivetrain and wheelset for gravel racing and bikepacking.

Fuji’s all-mountain trail bike. Progressive trail geometry, 27.5 wheels, full-suspension travel, a 1x drivetrain, and a dropper post for technical descending.

A full-suspension e-mountain bike on 27.5+ wheels. Mid-drive motor, integrated battery, and dropper post for technical climbing and descending on aggressive trails.

A hardtail e-mountain bike at the entry tier. 27.5 wheels, rear-hub motor, and a value-spec component package for fitness and light trail riding.

An entry-tier hardtail mountain bike. Front suspension, a 7-speed drivetrain, and mechanical disc brakes at a price point aimed at first-time MTB buyers.

A step-thru entry mountain bike. Front suspension, hardtail geometry, and a low standover height for casual trail and rail-trail riding.

Fuji’s fitness hybrid. Flat-bar geometry, fast-rolling tires, and a 2x drivetrain for road fitness rides and urban commuting.

A comfort-oriented electric cruiser. Upright posture, integrated battery and rear-hub motor, and a 7-speed drivetrain tuned for short urban e-bike rides.
