About Yuba
Benjamin Sarrazin founded Yuba Bicycles in 2006 in Sausalito, California, working out of a shipping container near the Yuba River that he had paddled as a kayaker. Sarrazin grew up in France in a cycling-industry family, then traveled through Africa and Latin America in his twenties and watched residents in remote regions use bicycles to haul cargo because cars were out of reach. He returned to North America convinced the same vehicle could replace a second car in a US household.
Yuba was the first company to launch a fully assembled cargo bike for the North American market. The Mundo arrived as a longtail platform with a chromoly steel frame and a rear deck rated for two children or several hundred pounds of cargo, sold complete rather than as a frameset to be built up. The platform set the template the rest of the US cargo-bike category followed.
The current lineup spans pedal and electric versions of the Mundo longtail, the compact Boda Boda midtail, the Spicy Curry and FastRack longtails, the Kombi E5 with Shimano STEPS gearing, and the Supercargo front-loader. Electric models run on Bosch Cargo Line and Shimano STEPS E5000 and EP800 mid-drive motors with cargo-specific tuning for low-speed loads and steep starts.

Yuba's Warranty: What It Covers and Where It Stops
Yuba backs the products it makes with a two-year warranty against manufacturing defects. Five terms decide what that is worth to you.
Two years on the frame and components
Yuba guarantees the frame against manufacturing defects for two years, and its components carry a two-year guarantee as well. Normal wear and tear on some parts is not covered.
Original owner only, drive parts under their makers' terms
The warranty is valid for the original owner only and is non-transferable. It does not cover parts not made by Yuba: Bosch, Magura, and Shimano provide their own 2-year guarantees on the parts of their electric assistance systems.
Yuba repairs or replaces, you pay labor and shipping
If a manufacturing defect is confirmed, Yuba may choose to repair or replace the item. The original owner pays the labor and shipping costs of the repair or replacement, and repairs or modifications made without Yuba's prior written authorization void the warranty.
Register the bike and keep the invoice
Yuba asks owners to register the bike and conserve the purchase invoice. Registration makes it easier to reach Yuba in the event of a warranty claim, critical safety information, or theft. Claims are submitted through Yuba's online Warranty Claim Form.
Defects only: theft and crashes are not warranty matters
Yuba's warranty covers manufacturing defects in Yuba-made products, and normal wear and tear is not covered. A stolen or crashed bike is not a manufacturing defect. Those are the losses a Velosurance policy is built for.
