About Seven

Seven Cycles builds custom bicycle frames by hand in Watertown, Massachusetts, and has since 1997, when Rob Vandermark left his job running research and development at Merlin Metalworks to start it. The company began with titanium and steel, added titanium-carbon frames in 1998, and full carbon in 2002.

Every Seven is made to measure. The company builds each frame to a rider’s exact fit, terrain, and ride preferences instead of offering stock sizes, which is how it became the largest exclusively custom frame builder in the world. Titanium is the house material, prized for its ride quality and a structural warranty that tends to outlast the components bolted to it.

The range covers nearly every drop-bar and flat-bar discipline. Road riders get the Axiom, 622, and Redsky; gravel and adventure riders get the Evergreen; the Mudhoney handles cyclocross. Off-road, Seven builds the Sola hardtail, the Mobius full-suspension trail bike, and the Treeline fat bike. Construction tiers, from S up to ultrabutted XX, let riders dial in weight and price.

Most popular Seven models

Seven organizes its range by discipline and frame material, and every model is built to the customer’s measurements in titanium, titanium-carbon, or full carbon. On the road, the Axiom is the titanium all-rounder, the 622 blends carbon main tubes with titanium lugs for a lighter race feel, and the Redsky uses a mid-reach endurance fit. The Evergreen covers gravel and bikepacking, while the Mudhoney is the dedicated cyclocross frame.

Off-road, Seven builds the Sola titanium hardtail, the Mobius full-suspension trail bike, and the Treeline fat bike for snow and sand. A custom Seven complete runs from roughly $6,700 to over $10,000, and the titanium frames carry a structural warranty measured in decades, so they tend to outlive several component groups. That long-haul replacement value is exactly what a homeowner’s policy tends to cap below, which is where stand-alone mountain bike insurance from Velosurance fills the gap.
