About Lynskey
Lynskey is the family that taught America to ride titanium. The Lynskeys began welding titanium bicycle frames in Chattanooga, Tennessee in 1984, founded Litespeed in 1986, and built it into the dominant US titanium brand before selling it in 1999. In 2006 they returned under their own name, Lynskey Performance, and went back to doing the one thing they have always done best.
Every Lynskey frame is built from titanium in Chattanooga and carries a lifetime warranty. The brand’s signature is the Helix tubeset: down tubes and top tubes that are squared, ovalized, then twisted roughly 90 degrees through their midsection, a manipulation Lynskey says raises stiffness by up to 35 percent without giving up titanium’s famous ride quality. It is a way to make a 3/2.5 tube behave closer to 6/4 while keeping the spring underfoot.
Lynskey builds across road, all-road, gravel, and hardtail mountain, sold both as bare framesets for custom builds and as complete bikes. The road line runs from the flagship Meraki to the endurance Aeon and sport R300; the gravel side spans the Elysium, Zephyr, and GR Edge; and the Atlas, Olympus, and Live Wire carry the range off-road. Titanium does not rust, does not fatigue like aluminum, and shrugs off the abuse that ends a carbon frame, which is why a Lynskey is often bought to be a last bike.
Most popular Lynskey models
Lynskey’s catalog is organized by discipline, and nearly every model is offered as a frameset for a custom build or as a complete bike. The road family leads with the Meraki, a stiffer-tubed flagship built for response, alongside the endurance-geometry Aeon and the all-day R300. All three carry the spirally twisted tube shaping that made Lynskey’s name.
On dirt, the Elysium is the performance gravel platform, the Zephyr a compact-geometry all-road explorer, and the GR Edge a vibration-damped endurance all-road frame. The Atlas, Olympus, and Live Wire hardtails extend the same lifetime-warranty titanium to the trail, from XC climbing to descending-focused geometry. A handbuilt titanium frame is a replacement-cost problem most homeowner’s policies handle badly, capping payouts well below what a custom Lynskey build is worth, which is where stand-alone gravel bike insurance from Velosurance fills the gap.
