About Scott
Scott started in 1958 when engineer and skier Ed Scott invented the first aluminum ski pole in Sun Valley, Idaho. The company moved through ski and motocross gear before building its first mountain bike in 1986, and it has been an engineering-led brand ever since. Scott Sports is now headquartered in Givisiez, Switzerland.
Scott has a track record of cycling firsts. It introduced the aerodynamic clip-on handlebar in 1989, the design Greg LeMond used to win the Tour de France that year by eight seconds. The brand built one of the first production full-suspension mountain bikes in 1992, and its bikes have carried riders to World Cup cross-country titles and Tour de France stage wins since.
Scott builds across nearly every discipline. The Addict and Foil cover road racing, the Addict Gravel handles drop-bar dirt, and the Plasma is the brand’s triathlon and time-trial platform. On the mountain side, the Spark RC races cross-country, the Scale is the hardtail option, and the Genius and Ransom handle trail and enduro. The eRIDE range brings TQ and Bosch motors to the Lumen, Strike, and other platforms.

The Lumen eRIDE and Strike eRIDE add motor assist with TQ and Bosch drive systems. The Plasma’s deep aero integration and high replacement value are exactly what a standalone triathlon bike insurance policy is built to protect.
