About Ride1Up
Ride1Up launched in 2018 in San Diego, California, with a direct-to-consumer model and a single argument: the markup on a name-brand e-bike pays for retail floor space, not better parts. Founder Kevin Dugger built the company around shipping quality components straight to the rider’s door at prices traditional brands could not match.
The bet paid off. Ride1Up became one of the most recommended value e-bike brands in the US, known for spec sheets that punch above their price: hydraulic disc brakes, torque sensors, and integrated lighting on bikes that cost less than half of comparable shop e-bikes. The catalog grew from a couple of commuter models to a full range.
Ride1Up now spans folding, commuter, touring, carbon road, and electric mountain bikes. The Portola folds for apartment storage, the Roadster V3 keeps weight low with a belt drive, and the 700 Series, Turris, LMT’D V2, and Vorsa cover daily commuting. The Prodigy V2 runs a German Brose mid-drive, the CF Racer1 is a carbon fiber lightweight, and the TrailRush and Revv1 take the brand off-road.
Most popular Ride1Up models
Ride1Up’s core is the value commuter. The Portola is the compact folding bike for small spaces and transit, the Roadster V3 is the lightweight belt-drive option, and the Turris is the adventure-touring commuter with a 750W motor. The 700 Series and LMT’D V2 are the fully-loaded daily commuters, the latter with a torque sensor, and the Vorsa is the newer full-size all-around bike.
At the premium end, the Prodigy V2 uses a German Brose mid-drive motor for a natural pedaling feel, and the CF Racer1 is an ultra-light carbon fiber e-bike for fitness and road riding. The TrailRush is the trail-ready hardtail electric mountain bike, and the Revv1 is the moped-style platform that switches between Class 2, Class 3, and off-road modes. With most of the lineup built for daily urban riding, a Ride1Up is the kind of bike that lives outside coffee shops and offices, where theft is the real risk and stand-alone commuter bike insurance matters most.
