About ICE Trikes
Inspired Cycle Engineering has built recumbent trikes in Falmouth, on the Cornish coast of England, since 1999, and its designs trace back to the original Trice of 1986. Directors Chris Parker and Neil Selwood run a company that became employee-owned in 2022 and holds ISO 9001 certification. Every trike is built to order.
The engineering is the point. Every current ICE frame folds with the Compact Flat Twist Fold, steers without brake steer, and fits the rider through the Rider Positioning System. The VTX holds world records in several categories, and in 2013 Maria Leijerstam rode an ICE-built Polar Cycle 630 km to the South Pole in 10 days and 14 hours, a coast-to-pole record that still stands.
ICE sells through dealers in the US and lists its prices in dollars. Shimano STEPS EP8 e-assist, with a 250W motor and a 630 Wh battery, is available across the range. Every new trike carries a 10-year warranty on the frame, seat, and steering when registered within 30 days, and since June 2025 that warranty transfers to a second owner.

ICE’s range runs from relaxed touring to record-setting speed, and every model shares the folding frame. The Adventure ($4,400) and Adventure HD ($4,500) have the highest seats, with the HD built stronger and 2 inches longer for riders up to 330 lb. The Sprint X Tour ($4,500) is the medium-height all-rounder, now with a 20-inch-wheel Pixel version for riders from about 4 ft 6 in tall, and the Sprint X ($6,000) adds race-specification components and the VTX’s aero wheelset with a 700c rear wheel.
The VTX ($6,850) is the lowest and fastest, with Shimano Di2 shifting available. The Full Fat ($6,650) rolls on large-volume, low-pressure tires for sand, snow, and mud. New for 2026, the ICE Handcycle ($13,550) brings the same folding frame to arm-powered riding. ICE Trikes' Warranty: What It Covers and Where It Stops
ICE backs the frame, seat, and steering of every new trike for ten years when the owner registers. Five terms decide what that is worth to you.
Register within 30 days for ten years, or get one
The main frame, seat frame, and steering components are warranted against material defects for one year from purchase, or for ten years if the frame is registered with ICE within 30 days of purchase. ICE-made components and accessories get one year.
The ten-year warranty follows the trike to a second owner
If the first owner registered for the ten-year term, the remaining balance may be transferred to a second owner who registers the change of ownership with ICE. Non-ICE parts such as Rohloff hubs or Shimano drivetrains are covered by their own makers.
Labor, shipping, and travel are the owner's cost
The owner is responsible for all labor, shipping, and travel costs connected with the repair or replacement of warranted parts. ICE may, at its sole discretion, compensate reasonable labor at an Approved ICE Dealer and cover reasonable shipping on a successful claim.
Keep the receipt and the annual service records
ICE may ask for the original proof of purchase and annual service records before honoring a claim, and may request photographs or the return of parts for inspection. Bearings, chainrings, cassettes, tires, tubes, and cables are not covered.
Defects only: theft and crash damage are excluded
The policy states that it does not cover any theft or loss of an ICE trike and that the owner should ensure they have insurance for it. It also excludes wilful damage, including damage from crashes or jumping. Those are the losses a Velosurance policy is built for.
