About EVELO
EVELO was founded in 2011 by brothers Boris and Yevgeniy Mordkovich, and shipped its first electric bike in March 2012 to a customer in New Jersey. To prove the bikes could go the distance, the company rode one 4,000 miles from New York to San Francisco. EVELO's Warranty: What It Covers and Where It Stops
EVELO backs every e-bike against manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship. Five terms decide what that is worth to you.
Four years or 20,000 miles
The frame, display, controller, motor assembly, and rear hubs are warranted against defects in material or workmanship for 48 months or 20,000 miles from purchase, whichever comes first.
Battery: full replacement for 24 months, prorated to 48
Original batteries are warranted for 48 months from the date of purchase: full replacement during the first 24 months, prorated replacement during months 25 to 48. Replacement batteries are warranted for one year from delivery.
Labor is covered for the first 30 days
EVELO covers the cost of warranty labor within the 30-day period after purchase. After that the owner pays labor on warranty replacements. EVELO covers regular ground freight within the contiguous USA for warranty parts during the 48 months.
Commercial use cuts coverage to one year
EVELO e-bikes used for commercial activities are covered for one year with no mileage restrictions. All warranties are void if the bike is used in competitive events or beyond the maximum recommended rider weight.
Defects only: accident damage is excluded
The warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship and does not apply to malfunctions or failures due to accidents. Those are the losses a Velosurance policy is built for.
