About All-City
All-City Cycles launched in 2008 in Minneapolis as a house brand of Quality Bicycle Products, the brainchild of Jeff Frane. The early catalog was fixed-gear and single-speed framesets built for messengers and track riders, defined by bold paint and a refusal to look like anything else on the rack.
The brand moved into performance steel in 2016, drawing custom-extruded and Superform-shaped tubing into all-road, cyclocross, and gravel frames. The aesthetic borrowed from vintage motorcycles, hot rods, and old race catalogs. Models like the Space Horse and Cosmic Stallion earned a cult following for riding as well as they photographed.
QBP announced in 2023 that All-City would wind down, with no new development beyond the 2024 model year. The bikes remain on roads and trails across the country, prized on the used market for their steel ride quality and out-of-production paint schemes.
Most popular All-City models
All-City’s range spanned drop-bar disciplines on steel. The Space Horse is the do-everything all-road tourer, built to take racks, fenders, and tires up to 42c. The Cosmic Stallion is the steel race bike, quick where the Space Horse is calm, offered in GRX and titanium framesets. The Gorilla Monsoon goes wide with 27.5 x 2.4-inch tires for gravel and light trail, and the Super Professional bridges cyclocross and city duty in single-speed and geared builds. The Zig Zag carries the classic steel road bike forward with 105 and Ultegra groupsets.
The Big Block is the track and fixed-gear staple, a velodrome-ready bike that doubles as a stripped-down street machine. The Nature Cross keeps the cyclocross heritage alive in geared and single-speed form. Off pavement, the Electric Queen and Log Lady are 27.5+ steel hardtails, the Electric Queen drop-bar and flat-bar capable and the Log Lady a single-speed trail bike, and both carry the kind of replacement value that makes dedicated mountain bike insurance worth carrying.
