About ENVE
ENVE Composites builds carbon fiber by hand in Ogden, Utah. The company launched in 2007 as Edge Composites and rebranded to ENVE in 2010, making its name on deep-section carbon wheels and one-piece cockpits that became common equipment in the WorldTour peloton.
ENVE molds its rims, bars, and forks in-house rather than outsourcing production overseas, which is rare at its scale. From an 80,000-square-foot facility opened in 2016, it controls layup, molding, and finishing under one roof, and that vertical integration is what backs the premium price on its wheelsets, handlebars, stems, seatposts, and forks.
ENVE moved into complete bikes in 2022 with the Melee aero road platform, then added the MOG gravel bike and the Fray all-road bike. Each sells as a frameset or as a complete build specced with ENVE’s own SES wheels and integrated cockpit. Amer Sports owned the brand from 2016 until 2024, when Utah-based PV3 Investments acquired it and returned ENVE to local ownership.
Most popular ENVE models
ENVE builds three complete bikes, each offered as a bare frameset or as a complete build wearing ENVE’s own SES carbon wheels and a one-piece cockpit. All three are molded in Ogden and share the same priorities: aerodynamic tube shapes, tuned carbon layup, and integrated in-frame storage.
The Melee is the aero road race bike, built for fast group rides and criteriums, with complete builds spanning the Foundation Force kit up to the Pro RED flagship near $13,750. The Fray is the all-road bike, clearing 40mm tires and hiding a downtube storage bay for riders who mix pavement and light dirt. The MOG is the dedicated gravel platform, taking up to 50mm tires with ENVE’s integrated Cargo Bay. A complete ENVE runs from roughly $8,250 to nearly $14,000, the kind of replacement value a homeowner’s policy frequently caps below, which is where stand-alone road bike insurance from Velosurance fills the gap.
