How quickly will my claim get paid?
Last updated
Most claims are paid in less than 14 business days. We work with you to resolve the claim quickly so you can get back to riding, and the exact timeline comes down to how complex the loss is.
Straightforward claims move fastest. A simple repair, or a theft reported with a complete police report, can be settled well inside that window. Claims that need more review, such as a total loss or a carbon frame that has to be inspected for safe repair, take a little longer because of the added steps, not because of any delay on our side.
The single biggest factor in your control is how quickly and completely you file. Report the loss as soon as it happens by following the procedure on our claims page, and a claims manager will contact you within two business days. Submitting full documentation up front keeps the claim from stalling.
What can I do to get my claim paid faster?
Send complete documentation with your claim from the start:
- Clear photos of the damage, from several angles.
- A repair estimate from your bike shop, including parts and labor.
- Your written account of how the loss happened.
- For theft, a police report plus a photo of the defeated lock and the receipt for any gear or apparel claimed.
See how to file a claim for the full steps.
How is the payout amount decided?
Your bike is insured at its declared value with no depreciation for age. A repairable bike is paid at the retail cost of the repair, including labor, minus your deductible. A total loss is paid at the declared value minus your deductible. Because there is no depreciation, the figure does not shrink as your bike gets older.
